Comil School Project

More than 1,000 employees have already been sensitised by the project and have had the opportunity to complete their basic education.

For 19 years, the Comil School Programme has been raising awareness and encouraging Comil Ônibus S.A. employees to resume their studies and complete primary and secondary school. Through internal action, employees take part in awareness-raising sessions about the meaning and importance of schooling in their personal and professional lives, and those interested are referred to schools in Erechim and the region. They are followed up throughout the year with support from the company, with the aim of keeping them on until they finish their course. Since 2005, more than 1,000 employees have been assisted by the project and, in 2023 alone, 51 employees resumed their studies. For 2024, the company's expectation is to sensitise 500 people, encouraging them to complete basic education.

In recognition, Comil Ônibus organises a get-together for the graduating employees, with tributes and the awarding of diplomas.  For Fernanda Parmeggiani, Human Resources Manager, the programme is of the utmost importance: "More than encouraging studies, our purpose is to recognise the capabilities of our team, the capabilities of each employee, that each person has to overcome life's challenges. We know that reconciling school life with the responsibilities of adult life isn't easy, so we want to congratulate the graduates not only for graduating, but also for being protagonists in their story."

Seamstress Gabriela Marquesi, 30, who has been with the company for a year and graduated from high school through Comil Escola, on behalf of her class thanks Comil for the opportunity to go back to school: "With great joy in our hearts, we want to thank Comil for awakening our dreams, for putting back into our lives the desire to grow, to study and to realise our goals."

This is one of the actions of Comil buses, which seeks, in addition to the personal and professional development of its staff, the development of the local community.
